This is an entry level course and has no age restriction.

The course covers key topics including safety, communication, throwing a mooring line, basic boat handling, helping at a lock, what to do in an emergency and looking after the environment.

Inland Waterways Helmsman Course

This course is suitable for everybody and assumes no prior knowledge. You must be 18+ to take part in this course.

This course covers safety, helmsmanship, locks and tunnels, collision avoidance, and an introduction to engine maintenance.
